Sam Hoh, the founder and CEO of Robot-Hub, isn't just your regular software developer - he's also a visionary entrepeneur with a genuine passion for improving the lives of others through technology. He is currently in the business of Robotic Automation, focusing on making this technology available to small businesses, via the Robotics-As-A-Service (RAAS) Business Model.
Originally from Malaysia, Sam migrated to New Zealand, and completed his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland where he majored in Accounting, Finance and Commercial Law.
He then worked as a management accountant for the first 6 years of his career, before starting in software development. He got tired of how expensive and how long it took for simple software solutions were developed, that he self taught himself a range of software languages, entirely from online sources.
Are you starting out in your career, or looking for a career change? Sam is passionate about introducing others into world of automation. Are you wanting to analyse your processes? Pick up skillsets for automation? No matter which stage you are in, you can always make a difference and improve your current workflow.
Why is software development so expensive? Why do we opt to just place another staff member to work that repeatitive mundane piece of work? We explore how Robotic Process Automation (RPA) can create a new approach to how we scale and automate our business.
Robotics as a service is a new business model that looks to give smaller to medium sized businesses the ability to harness the power or automation without risk, and any upfront development cost. Sam will talk about how this business model can work for all parties involved, and its potential to change the way we do business.
How will automation shape the future of work? Sam talks about how the traditional way of working will be phased out in this new era of automation. The future of work where both robotic automation and human workers will work together to accomplish something big.
